Too Good to Give Up from Kirsten Boerst on Vimeo.

The Scenario has evolved. Now it's a cinematic short film starring YOU

To have a scenario or not to have a scenario included along with your wedding video is a consideration these days. Many couples opt not to have one but at VbK we can tailor a tasteful and creative scenario that suits your lifestyle or individual hobbies. It really becomes a cinematic short film featuring an aspect of your lifestyle. A serious game of pokor or a friendly Remote Control Car Championship. A game of putt putt golf or a game of tennis or soccer, all fun and all featuring you and the boys or girls. We can also stage an interview with both bride and groom individually or together including the bridal party and this can become a featured part of your final video.

We shoot in a documentary style employing the principles of photo journalism for the day. Consider this new style of cinematic short film scenario which can be a unique way to start your day ith VbK.

Here are some recent feedback notes I have received from studios:

As part of the Videos by Kirstie port folio, we work for numerous photographers through out Sydney. Here is some feedback that we have received this month.

"I wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you for your efforts last
Saturday. It was a very long wedding and you worked very hard the whole time."

"all her work (Kirstie's) is really good, she takes the time
to set up her shots and directs the clients well. She has good
communication and rapport with clients."

Recent client feedback:

The video is absolutely PERFECT! You have done such a lovely job and we are
so happy!

We are going to show our families next week and send some of the highlight
videos to relatives overseas who couldn't make it to the wedding.

Thank you so much for everything. You made our wedding day so easy!

Thank you for choosing Videos by Kirstie to film your beautiful day

Hi Everybody

Welcome to the official Videos by Kirstie blog and our inaugural post.

I am always asked what lured me from the world of television to the elegant world of wedding videography. The logical simlarities are that both require a certain degree of obsessive attention to detail but the real answer is pretty simple. My earliest recollections, as a 4 year old growing up in Sydney, are of brides spinning elegantly around my mothers bridal and evening wear design studio as my mum diligently made final design decisions. Needless to say, my formalwear was always well taken care of as I was growing up, as was my beautiful wedding couture. Many years later my parents took over the beautiful Lauralla Guest House in Mudgee and created an award winning wedding venue.

I am always researching new wedding ideas and I've recently discovered a trend that I'm really excited about. Many couples are choosing to return to the elegant days of jazz music and post war excitement.

My most recent experience of this trend occured in July this year (2009). One of my July couples chose the beautiful New South Wales State Library as the location to celebrate their wedding reception. The grand architecture of the library complimented the style and theme of their day. Their video features great camera dolly shots along enormous corridors as guests enjoyed canopes in the foyer and heartfilled guest wishes, recorded in The Shakespeare Room, where you can be forgiven for thinking you have been transported to Hogwarts. This building can only be described as one of the most inspiring examples of early Australian architecture.

A good wedding videographer is always inpired by the footage before them as they edit but when this inspriration exceeds even your own expectation the feeling inspires you to write about it and tell others of your experience, this is one of those times. Laura and Tom, thank you for choosing Videos by Kirstie to film your beautiful day.
